Son says Tottenham has to look in the mirror after receiving a wake-up call.
LONDON: After a devastating 3-0 loss at Fulham on Saturday placed question on Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League top four credentials, captain Son Heung-min said the team needed to look in the mirror.
If they had won, they would have advanced past Aston Villa and into the Champions League, but instead they played a poor game, allowing Rodrigo Muniz to score twice for the home team.
"It is extremely aggravating and disheartening. "Everyone needs to look in the mirror and admit that they are to blame," stated Son, who squandered one opportunity with the score at 0-0.

It was insufficient. We did not exert the same level of effort as we have all season. Both the performance and the attitude needed improvement. Everyone is in need of a severe awakening."
The fact that Tottenham had defeated Villa 4-0 the previous weekend made the performance all the more unexpected, as it put a stop to their streak of scoring goals in every Premier League match this season.
Son was definitely not holding back.
"In the Premier League, inaction is met with consequences. Fulham and Aston Villa both have outstanding teams. You will suffer consequences if you do not put forth your all. The South Korean forward continued, "You don't get three points for nothing.

"This is a two-step regression. It's time for us to move forward. It is intolerable; at least for me, it was.
"We are representing Tottenham, one of the Premier League teams. This was a far cry from our season-long activities. This is really depressing to watch. This isn't fair to the supporters. It was really hard to lose this."
