The tech business of UnitedHealth Group experienced disruptions on February 21 that resulted in financial difficulties for small healthcare providers and prompted an investigation by the US health department into possible breaches of protected health information.

Although the precise effect of the intrusion on patient data is still unknown, it is another in a long line of disruptive cyberattacks on American healthcare organizations.
